NIKON D7000 + 400mm f/2.8 + 1.7x @ 680mm, ISO 100, 1/400, f/4.8If you have never photographed the Moon before, I would certainly suggest to take a picture of it when it is full. You will learn quite a bit in the process and you will have a picture of the Full Moon that you can reuse in other images.

This is not a problem during the day, because the moon’s brightness more or less matches the brightness of the sky. So, why do our eyes see everything normally, while a digital camera cannot?
Capturing the Moon in Daylight Conditions
I’ve used nearly every digital camera system under the sun, but for my personal work, I love the slow-paced nature of large format film. You can see more at my personal website and my Instagram page. The Lightroom catalog gets more and more complicated as you learn about it in-depth. If you want to use multiple catalogs, send a catalog of photos to someone else, or use the same catalog on multiple computers, things can be very tricky. I recommend reading our full article on Lightroom catalogs if you’re trying to do anything complicated, and our article on using Lightroom with multiple computers. Avoid auto white balance and set the white balance manually.
The only difference for social media is that the rates for an Instagram campaign are often significantly lower than a print ad. So setting limits to your session will help you earn more. The longer they want to pose in front of the camera, the more they have to pay.
For corporate photography, high level of noise in images is unacceptable and you need to make sure that your images are crisp and beautiful, without any color casts and heavily overexposed/underexposed areas. When taking pictures, you might have come across strange, rainbow patterns in photographs that contain a lot of fine detail. These patterns are known as “moiré” (pronounced “more-ay”) and they can cause plenty of headaches for photographers. In this article, we will take a look at what moiré is, what causes it, how you can reduce it both in camera, as well as post-processing software. Similarly to aperture priority, this is another ‘semi-automatic’ shooting mode, though in this instance, you as the photographer set the shutter speed and the camera will take care of the aperture. The shutter speed, measured in seconds , is the amount of time the shutter stays open when taking a photograph.
Before we talk about how you can photograph the Moon, it is important to understand the basics of Moon phases. This image of a vampire drinking blood during the Full Moon is a composite – the Moon was added to the image to create drama. Notice that the histogram is still shifted very far to the left. You will also want to watch the Luminance Histogram to make sure you’re not blowing out or overexposing the photo as a whole. The details and colors will become the average of the 30-second exposure for each pixel. You can still keep the foreground acceptably sharp while shooting at f/2.8, but can also experiment with f/3.5 or f/4. Next, verify that the horizon in the image is also sharp, or whatever the furthest object in your composition happens to be.
